Lose Weight with Basketball Drills

basketball drillsIf you don’t already know the secret to weight loss let me lay it on you: eat less, move more. It’s really that simple. All of those people on television who tell you that they lost fifty pounds because their on some crazy diet pill are really just practicing the core concept of eat less and move more.

The less you eat and the more you exercise the more your body will have to dip into it’s fat stores to provide you energy. Just like a train burns more coal the faster it chugs along the tracks your body will fuel it’s engines with the fat around your belly, thighs, and chest.

Even though the idea is such a simple one, people struggle with it. For some reason it is difficult to really put the concept into practice. If you are looking for a way to lose weight and can’t figure out an approach that will get you moving more and eating less, think about playing some basketball. Basketball is a fantastic cardio workout and it is so simple to pick up and play. Almost every neighborhood in the country has a basketball hoop or two lying around for you to start using and you don’t even need a team to play with.

It is understandable for some people not to want to work out socially. It can be embarrassing to walk into a gym with flab hanging out everywhere only to be surrounded by beautifully fit human beings. You can solve that problem though with basketball drills. Basketball drills can be performed with only one person. They get you outdoors and potentially away from ridiculing eyes and they are an intense but interesting aerobic activity.

All you have to do to start losing weight is browse the Internet for a few good ideas on simple basketball shooting drills, buy a basketball, and head out to the court. After you get into a routine of doing a few drills a day you will find the pounds just falling off. Of course you will also have to modify your diet but once you get the “move more” portion of the program down you will feel much better and it will be easier to eat right.
