Lose weight in a healthy way with a summer diet that is just perfect for hot days. This diet excludes meat and dairy products that are high in fat, relying mostly on fruits and vegetables. Fruit and vegetable juices, skimmed milk, fat free natural yogurt, whole grains are the basic foods for this fast weight loss diet. You can follow it for a period of up to 2 weeks, and if the results are pleasing you may continue, by changing your diet and adopting a healthier lifestyle as well.
For breakfast, the summer diet will propose several variants:
1. 250 ml skimmed milk with whole grains;
2. A bowl of fruit salad (seasonal fruits are recommended);
3. 300 ml juice, fresh fruit and vegetables;
4. A slice of toast with 5 oz of skimmed cow cheese;
5. 2 slices of black bread and 1 red grapefruit;
6. Natural yoghurt;
7. 2 hard-boiled eggs and one tomato;
Summer diets that work are great when they stay light and refreshing, without too much cooking. Enjoy the foods of the season. For lunch you can either choose soups and vegetable broths or vegetable salad, baked potatoes with a little olive oil, grilled vegetables, pasta or rice with tomato sauce. Eat as many green peppers, zucchini, cabbage and tomatoes. Avoid all foods that require frying and opt for boiled or preparations for the grill. This diet is also called the 1500 calorie diet which proved to be effective in certain cases.
Dinner will consist of vegetables or a salad, with a little olive oil and lemon juice. Potatoes, yogurt, and fresh fruits are great side additions, but also try dried fruits mixed with house cheese.
As a special treat, you must know that you will be allowed to eat one ice cream a week or one piece of dark chocolate. You can also drink a morning coffee sweetened with a little pure cane sugar, not artificial sweetener. Eliminate alcohol, excess salt, any carbonated drinks and white bread. Drink water, 4-5 pints per day, enjoy teas sweetened with honey – either hot or iced. Fruit sauces are to be enjoyed too, and you can also search for juicing recipes and combine some of the fruits you are eating – one glass a day is enough.
