For starts, waist trimmer belts are usually made of a neoprene product that is designed to be comfortable around the mid section. When you wear one of these you want to ensure that it fits snug, but is not to tight and not to soft, make sure it fits just right.
Wearing a waist trimmer belt will enable you to burn more calories at a faster pace than you would just working out without one.

The science behind the belt is simple. When you workout your body temperate rises, your body then attempts to remove the heat from the body via sweat in order to keep your body as cool as possible. When you are going for maximum calorie burn however you want to keep your body temperature as high as possible (within reason) to ensure your burning calories faster. The waist trimming belt does this by keeping the heat that would normally be released within the midsection area, allowing it to stay at a higher temperature.

Some scientists have claimed that wearing a belt such as this will enable users to also increase their metabolic rate (rate at which you digest food.) I can provide no such validity, but its a nice bonus on top of everything else that the belt can/will do for you. One thing to keep in mind is the fact that wearing a waist trimmer belt will not simply cause you to lose weight or get fit. You need to adhere to a strict diet regime, as well as exercise daily and stick with it for the long haul. The belt will however help you with those few extra pounds at the end of the tunnel.
