Every spring the swimsuit magazines hit the mailbox and we begin to think about how to lose weight for the coming summer. Who doesn’t want to look better in a swimsuit? Would you like a few secret weight loss tips?
There are many simple steps you can implement to get a buffer body for the summer. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on dieting tips or fancy exercise programs.
You can start simple and just cut down the size of the portions you eat at every meal. I am not insisting that you starve yourself. That is a recipe for failure. But look at the size of your dinner plate. What if you ate half of the portion for dinner and kept the rest for lunch the next day. The alternative is you could also consider ordering a half portion. On my last visit to my favorite Italian restaurant they now offer half portions on the menu. This is a great idea because so often we feel like we have to eat all that is served to us. Just because your mother always told you to finish all your food on your plate doesn’t mean you have to.
When you are full stop eating, and don’t order dessert. When you feel like you are stuffed to the gills and then order dessert on top of that, you are setting yourself up for hundreds of excess calories that you just don’t need. If you are really craving something sweet, consider splitting the dessert with your date or taking half of the portion home with your dinner.
Just think of how many fewer calories you would consume if you ate half a portion every night at dinner for the next 30 days. I would bet that you would be no hungrier than before and your body will have fewer calories to process and store less excess energy as fat.
