Before you go on the lemonade diet you probably want to carefully weigh the Master Cleanse pros and cons. Every cleanse or diet has its benefits and drawbacks and the Master Cleanse is no different. South Beach Diet Phase 1 Shopping List

When starting a new diet it is important to know what can and cannot be eaten, what is and is not part of the diet. The South Beach Diet may seem a bit complicated on the surface with lists of what you can and can’t eat, but remember that only phase 1 is especially restricted. The South Beach Diet Phase 1 shopping list, however, will make it a lot easier to stick to the diet and get through phase 1 with flying colors.

This is the food list that you will want to refer to for your phrase 1 shopping and meal planning. I recommend picking a few different meals from the South Beach books that look interesting and simple to prepare and buy the ingredients neeed ahead of time. Then buy some additional items from the list to prepare other meals more spontaneously. It will also help to keep some of these items on hand so that you have healthy snacks and plenty of phase one acceptable foods when you get puckish.

The Caveman Paleolithic Diet

If one of your goals is to maintain good health, a diet that works is essential. An increasing number of people have discovered the Paleolithic diet, so called because it is largely based on eating food that was commonly eaten during the Paleolithic era, which came to an end around 10,000 years ago. The diet is sometimes also known as the caveman diet, but regardless of its rather odd name, many who have followed it have enjoyed an improvement in their health.

During the 1970s, Walter L. Voegtlin, a gastroenterologist put forward the theory that human genetics have remained basically unchanged since the beginning of the Paleolithic period. One of his main points was that the typical diet back then did not rely on processed foods, sugar and high fat, but consisted mostly of meat, fruit, fish, vegetables and roots. Beacause of this diet, our distant ancestors were able to live surprisingly free from disease, a big contrast to today’s world with its high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity and heart disease. Largely because of these observations, the Paleolithic diet was born.

Most people are already familiar with Dr. Phil style.  He’s very straightforward about getting to the heart of the manner.  In fact some would say he is rather abrupt, including me, and I’m not that crazy about his methods.  However, if you appreciate his style you may also appreciate his weight loss advice.

Why Can’t I Lose Weight?

There are so many different things that can factor into not being able to lose weight and each one of them should be taken into consideration. Your eating habits all the way to health issues can contribute to weight issues.

Portion size is a huge factor. Have you ever paid attention to what an actual serving size is? When we sit down to eat a wonderful home cooked meal, instead of serving ourselves only a single serving size of each item, we tend to load our plates up. When you go out to eat at restaurants, unless they are very elaborate, they serve much more than a reasonable serving size of each item. Pay attention to that serving size. The portion size could be a huge factor in not losing weight even if you are eating all the right foods.
