If you are looking for a way to age gracefully and avoid looking older than your age, the surefire methods are to:

Stop smoking or never start

Use sunscreen

Maintain a healthy weight

Develop a good exercise program

Many of us lose strength and bone density as we get older, but by adding some form of resistance training to your workouts you can ameliorate some of the physical effects of aging. Resistance workouts include working with weights, rubber bands, kettle bells, and any other forms of exercise that include some sort of resistance component. What’s great about resistance workouts is that they are also terrific for strength training.

In addition to increasing our bone density and strength, this type of workout is also quite beneficial to the heart. Resistance training can also help improve balance and coordination, depending on the type of workout. Using resistance bands is a great way to work on balance and coordination.

If you avoid exercise completely your body is going to be aging more quickly than you would care for. In addition to losing muscle tone you’ll also lose bone density and your skeletal posture may also be impacted. There are other health problems that also come with aging, such as back pain and arthritis.

It is never too late to start a new exercise program, so if you’ve been a bit lazy about doing this in the past it is time to make a new start. The many benefits of resistance training include increased strength, toned muscles, the higher metabolic rate, skin tightening in some help with preventing diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis. So if you want to slow down the aging process that is time to pick up a couple of dumb bells and get started.

Losing arm fat is definitely a bit of a pain, but You CAN lose that fat from under your arms by putting some work into it. There are some great exercises that you can perform to help lose that fat and tighten up those underarms. Losing any fat in your body requires a good diet first and foremost. Make sure that you have healthy eating habits. But in addition to eating healthy, try these exercises designed to tighten and melt that arm flab.

Push-Ups
The good old fashion push-ups are great for working this area of the arm. To do a proper push up you should keep your back straight and go all the way up and down to the point that your nose almost touches the floor keeping your back straight the entire time. If you are not able to do a good push up while being on your toes, then you can bend you legs and do them from your knee.

Bench Dips
Bench dips are an excellent exercise for toning that underarm flab too. To do a proper bench dip you will want to find a study chair or bench to sit on. You will put your hand by your bottom with your palms down on the seat. You then need to walk yourself out with your feet to the point that your bottom is off of the seat. Once your bottom is off the seat you will then use your arms to lower yourself until your elbows are at a 90 degree angle and your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Then you will lift yourself back up and then go back down and keep repeating. Do this for 10 to 20 times.

Chest Flies
The chest fly is a great exercise as well. The best way to do this is to use a stability ball and dumb bells. Your dumb bells should not be very heavy, just 3 to 5 pounds should be fine for tightening and toning up. You can also use a large can of soup in each hand for weights. If you do not have a stability ball you can lay on the bed of something as well. You just will not be able to go back with your arms as far. To do a proper chest fly you will want to have your upper shoulder part of the body and head on the ball and weights in hand. Start with both hands in the air with weights touching each other. Lower them both at the same time slowly and go down as far as you can. Then raise them back up. Repeat this process for 10 to 20 times.

The more often you do these, the sooner you will see the results. Just remember that you might feel some soreness from doing these exercises but do not let that keep you from exercising. The soreness will get less and less as you go on.

We all want those great 6 pack abs no matter what age or sex we are. Having trim and toned abs will make you look great as well as feel great too. There are some great exercises that can help you tone your abs and this article will tell you which ones will work the best.

1. Crunches
The crunch is the most productive ab exercise that you can do. Most professional trainers will agree with this. To perform a proper crunch you should start by laying flat on your back on a nice flat and firm service. Bend you knees up and make sure that your feet stay on the ground. Put your hands behind your hand and interlock your fingers. You then want to pull yourself up using your stomach muscles as much as possible. Pull up about half way to your knees. Then you slowly lower yourself back down and repeat.

2. Side Bends

Side bends are also very effective ab exercises. To do proper side bends you should stand up straight and have your feet about shoulder length apart. Lift your right arm straight into the air and bend to the left. Bend as far as you can and hold it for about 5 seconds or so. Then straighten back up. Then you will lift your left arm into the air and bend to the right and hold it for 5 seconds that way. You then stand straight up and do the right arm up again and keep repeating.

3. Leg Raises
Leg raises will help tone your abs up for sure. Lay flat on your back on a hard and firm surface with your legs straight out in front of you. Lift both legs into the air about 6 inches. Hold them there and count to 10, slowly. Then lower your legs and wait a few seconds and do it again. Repeat these steps to continue. If you can not hold them there for 10 seconds at first, just do it as long as you can. It will get easier.

Do each of these exercises in reps of 10, 15 or 20. If you are not a regular exerciser then you should probably start with reps of 10. If you do not feel that it is doing that much for you, just keep going.

These ab exercises will produce great results if you stick to them. Do not forget that you might feel a little sore after starting to do exercises that you are not used to and that is ok. Don’t let that stop you from continuing on with your exercising though. Keep it up and it will get easier and that soreness will go away.

Since running is so physically demanding, it is a proven way to lose weight. For many, losing weight is the main reason for implementing a running routine. But before you begin it is important to learn a few tips about running to lose weight.

1. Running exchanges fat for muscle. Muscle is denser and heavier than fat so in the first few weeks of your running program, you will actually gain weight instead of lose and you will think it is not working. Don’t panic, this is normal and if you continue with your program you will eventually lose those extra pounds.

2. Running is one of the most efficient ways to burn fat. You will not find many other forms of exercise which can burn as many calories as you can while running on an electric powered treadmill but one thing to keep in mind is the amount of calories you burn depends on your body weight. As your weight gets less and less so do the amount of calories you will be able to burn.

3. To lose weight you must burn more calories than you eat. Because of this it is a good idea to keep track of how many calories you consume. If you don’t have the time to count calories just try to keep foods which are high in calories to a minimum.

4. Running to lose weight is only effective if done regularly. It is better to run one hour for three times a week than it is to run three hours in one day. Try to run 3-4 times a week but the more days you run the more weight you will lose.

5. The most effective type of running to lose weight is intense running. It was once believed that running slowly was most effective to burn fat but in recent studies intense workouts have been proven to be more effective in burning calories.

6. Mix up your workout for best results. After doing the same workout for a period of time the body adapts and as a result will burn less calories. To counteract this you need to trick your body by doing things differently from time to time. For example, you can run faster, run a longer distance or a longer period of time. You can run on the treadmill or grab your running watch and go on a random route. It really doesn’t matter what you change, the point is to just change something so your body can’t adapt so quickly and you will burn more calories.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://dietinspector.com/images/B00006JXWC/" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>Athletes need the best ways to take care of their bodies to prevent injuries and improve performance. If you are looking to improve your overall athleticism and reduce injuries the benefits of yoga may be the answer you are looking for. Far too many athletes suffer from bad backs and sore knees which often mean giving up the sport they love. Adding regular yoga to your training will allow you to keep playing sports, live healthier, and injury free. Becoming a better athlete doesn’t require just using home gym machines try putting down the weights and strike a pose, a yoga pose.

Yoga can help athletes prevent aches and pains and improve performance by teaching proper breathing techniques. During physical activity exerted during sports the muscles in your body contract becoming extremely tight. Yoga teaches athletes how to breath using your stomach, ribs, and chest which increases the oxygen intake. Fuller breaths especially during sports increases lung capacity and VO2 max, pushing more oxygen to your muscles. More oxygen in the muscles means faster expulsion of waste products and faster recovery.

Athletes yoga will prevent pain by focusing on symmetry, alignment, and balance of the body’s muscles and joints. Sports will almost always over-work certain muscles while neglecting others creating stress strain. This creates an imbalance in muscle strength especially around joints (the knee is a very commonly afflicted joint).

Over-worked muscles become brittle and hard causing painful strains and leave the muscles susceptible to tears. Yoga does the exact opposite and will balance everything out by evenly working and stretching all muscles around the joints and loosening them up. These hard, brittle muscles will soften and relaxed, releasing most joint pain. Loosen muscles will also help the joints to better absorb shocks much better without the risk of a muscle tear.

Finally, the last way athletes yoga can prevent injuries is by increasing the range of motion of your body. A regular yoga practice will increase your mobility in the hips, back, shoulders, knees, just to name a few. By encouraging your body to move more freely, a sudden movement or twist during sports, which would normally cause a painful injury, can become something your body can easily do.

Also yoga can help treat the injuries you may already have. Practicing yoga can boost the body’s natural healing process, producing pain-relieving endorphins and infection-fighting anti-bodies.

If you are serious about achieving your body’s true potential, then athletes yoga is an absolutely indispensable tool. Through this practice, your body will loosen, work more efficiently, and allow you to move better and faster. And you can finally bid farewell to aches and pains; not only will you be preventing future injuries, but you can currently relieve pain caused by the ones you already have! Visit homegymmachinesdirect.com to learn more about improving your athleticism.
