How to Use Cardio Training to Lose Body Fat

April 5th, 2010 by DietGal | Comments Off | Filed in Exercise & Fitness

Cardio training is any activity that uses large group of muscles in a rhythmic manner and the most common activities are running, walking, elliptical training, and biking.  Cardio training is very important for the good health of the heart as it prevents high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases. Also, this kind of training improves the function of lungs and heart, which are the critical organs of the body.

Practicing cardio exercises regularly is the best way to shed those extra calories. Here’s my brief lose body fat guide: Do intense exercises that require you to change direction, intensity, and/or exertion levels constantly: the overall intensity of the cardio workout will determine the amount of calories that are burnt. These exercises does not target any particular group of muscles so it is the best method to reduce extra fat that is stored all over the body. While most training focuses much on using equipment, this training involves only body movements to achieve the desired result.

Another advantage of cardio training is the ease of including many varieties. Many fitness buffs get bored with same type of exercises, but with cardio workouts one can use different DVD’s and types of workouts to make the activities more interesting. As there are different activities in this training, one can switch their routines whenever they get bored with the monotony of exercise. Bored with running the treadmill indoors? How about getting outside to do some jogging or walking? Or maybe change your work-out with the weather — summer is a great time for walks on the beach or swimming at your local pool. Winter is perfect for that all body work-out – cross country skiing. But just like other forms of exercises, cardio also requires strict discipline to get the expected results.

There are different ways to make this exercise easy and enjoyable such as enlisting their friends in cardio activities, listening to good soothing music during workouts, and updating their workouts with the latest movements in cardio fitness. One can even try cardio with a more intense program like stretching exercises, which will help in reducing the stored fats more effectively. This method increases the metabolic rate and facilities more calorie use with the positive results.

Cardio workouts are one of the best methods to get your heart in shape, and all it requires is a little hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm. Unlike many sports, basic cardio exercises can be followed all throughout your life, leading to a healthy, long, and productive life.

What is Overtraining?

March 29th, 2010 by DietGal | Comments Off | Filed in Exercise & Fitness

When training with weights or cardio, overtraining occurs when the body receives so much stress that it cannot cope. It can occur when you are training too much or you are not receiving enough nutrition and/or sleep. Every individual’s tolerance for exercises differs and how much rest a person requires will vary.

Overtraining is not something that suddenly happens but rather it is an accumulation that occurs over weeks and months. This is why it is essential that you learn what the signs are of overtraining so that you can be vigilant enough to adjust your training regime when you enter the danger zone of overtraining. That way, you can build muscle, lose weight and look great without worrying about getting sick or fatigued.
