Whey protein powder has become the most popular protein powder in the market. This is not surprising as it is the best-known food source at present for building muscles. It is the highest scoring protein on the BV (biologically value) chart, a system that ranks protein according to how well it is digested and absorbed into the blood stream to be used for essential functions like building muscle. However, there is another less known and amazing health benefit of whey protein powder.

The Glutathione Connection
The ability of whey protein to raise glutathione levels in the body is one of the best health benefits of whey protein powder next to muscle building. Glutathione is itself a protein that has some very important functions for maintaining the health of the body. First of all it is the most powerful of antioxidants and for that reason is often referred to as the ‘master antioxidant’. Provided we are not deficient in glutathione it should exist within all of our hundreds of trillions of cells where it protects them from the oxidative damage of free radicals. What is unique about glutathione as an antioxidant is that it lives and is created within our cells. Protein Supplements – Don’t Overlook the Protein You Need

With protein being one of the three main ingredients in your diet, it is no surprise that protein supplements have become a staple in the bodybuilders’ diet. Not only are bodybuilders benefiting from protein supplements, but those looking to lose weight, increase performance or just to maintain their current level of fitness are looking for this as well.

One very important thing you must know about protein powder is the cholesterol level. The cholesterol in any given protein powder will tell you volumes about the quality of the protein. The lower the cholesterol value the higher the quality. You should be looking for the lowest cholesterol you can afford. It should be no shock to you that the more refined powder will be more expensive. The reason is that this protein is more easily absorbed into the blood stream, making it readily available for your muscles to rebuild them, but it costs the manufacturers a lot to get the powder into this form.

These days many people are looking for a way to lose excess weight and they are finding that it isn’t all that easy.  Because of the difficulty of traditional exercise and diet many people are turning to diet supplements like hoodia gordonii plus and green tea extract to help them lose weight faster.

This may happen for those looking for a quick fix, but it also helps when people are successful in their diet and exercise, but are unsatisfied with the end result.  It is always difficult to maintain a healthy weight loss program and diet pills provide a quick way to lose weight.  You should keep in mind though that there are many ways to lose weight and as long as you are making progress you shouldn’t give up on yourself.  Once you give up there is no way you will ever achieve your goals.
