April 29th, 2010 by DietGal | Comments Off | Filed in Exercise & Fitness

Building my own home exercise gym was one of the smartest things I have ever done.  With a small to modest investment, I was able to save thousands of dollars in the long run by not having to pay for a gym membership.  One of the most important lessons I learned is that in the beginning, start with exercise equipment that is versatile, can work many muscle groups and that can perform several different exercises.

All About Fat Burning Exercises

April 18th, 2010 by DietGal | Comments Off | Filed in Diet Tips & Reviews

Many people believe they have to go to a gym and workout 30 minutes every day in order to burn fat and/or lose weight. And though it is recommended that a fat burning exercise routine should be 20-30 minutes in length, it is no longer thought that 5-7 days is necessary in order to get in and/or stay in shape.

We are living in an age when maintaining a good body weight is not an easy option with all the toxins, pollutants and food additives we deal with on a daily basis. It is not only our privilege to remain healthy but our responsibility to family and self to do what we can to give our body’s every opportunity to perform at its best.
Fat puts stress on your heart, your lungs, muscles, joints and the veins in your legs. It is a contributing factor as far as health risks go—diabetes, cancer or heart disease. If done correctly, weight management along with some fat burning exercises will keep you in the pink of health.

Ab Circle Pro – Does this Abdominal Fitness Machine Work?

April 5th, 2010 by Inspector | Comments Off | Filed in Exercise & Fitness

Fitness machine trends tend to come and go. At one time everyone was all about Nordic Track machines, then it was stairmasters, lifecycles, elliptical machines, etc. These are actually all pretty terrific, especially for working out your core. But if you really wanted an exercise machine that was designed to give your abs a killer workout, you were often reduced to dealing with discs that rotate on the floor. Hopefully, the new Ab Circle Pro can end that trend right here, as it is a purpose-built ab exercising device that is well-built and creatively conceived.

Of course, if you have a proper home gym set up then you might be able to work an ab workout into the equipment you have for weight lifting, such as a crunch bench or something similar. For me though, I don’t have a whole lot of room and I don’t want one room dedicated to a home gym. So I like compact exercise equipment that can be either dismantled quickly, or simply folded up and wheeled out of the way. Treadmills are great for this. A quick workout on my treadmill and then when I want to switch to the Wii Fit and need to clear out some space in front of the television, I can close up the treadmill and wheel it right back into my walk-in closet.

If, like me, you like Treadmills, but you wish you had something to really make those abs burn so you can get a decent set of six pack abs, I highly recommend a look at the Ab Circle Pro. Admittedly, when you look at the videos for how this is used, it looks a little daunting. And possibly uncomfortable. Is it a torture device or a piece of exercise equipment? Well, let me reassure you. It is exercise equipment! And a pretty darn good one too.

When it comes to treadmills, safety is a big concern. In fact, the safety features on your treadmill should be one of the most important things you should consider when you’re making your purchase decision. Even though you may be able to get some treadmills for cheap at local discount stores, there’s a good chance that these treadmills won’t have the safety features that you should be looking for when you’re working out. Again, nothing, not even price, should come before the safety features on a treadmill. Let’s discuss a couple of the more important safety features you should look for, as well as one other thing you can do to help stay injury-free.

Exercising at Home with an Electric Treadmill

March 9th, 2010 by DietGal | Comments Off | Filed in Exercise & Fitness

Probably the most important thing to do if you want to lose weight is to stick to your intentions and carry though on what you are doing. Very often people have a lot of good intentions to be more sporty, do more exercises and eat more healthy in order to get to their desired shape. The first few weeks you are probably very well able to keep yourself to your good intentions, but when time passes it can be harder to keep yourself motivated going to the gym every day. Would it not be nice if you could set up your own home gym and do your exercises at home instead of having to go somewhere else to work-out every day?

Electric treadmills are made for walking and running and they have proven to be very effective in losing weight and getting in to shape. A regular treadmill will not cost you a lot of money and if you have the space then you can easily place them in your home. Some treadmills can even be folded for more convenient storage. Having your own fitness equipment in your home is an extra motivator to do your daily exercising and stick to your good intentions as you won’t have any excuse for not working out. You don’t need to worry about weather or commute times.
