Extremely fast weight loss is not just something you hear about on talk shows or on the radio. It is very real and definitely possible. However, you may need to change some of your ideas on what it takes to lose weight. In this article we will explain the best ways to finally shed those dreaded pounds for good.

The advice given below is not part of a fad diet. Everything here has been heavily researched and is totally proven to work.

Drinking lots of water is your first line of defense against weight gain. Water is great because it hydrates your cells. It also acts as a cleaning agent that scrubs the inside of your body. Another added benefit of water is that it keeps you feeling full. This will help to reduce cravings and will further expedite your weight loss.

Another very important rule to losing weight fast is getting enough fiber in your diet. Fiber acts as a brush for your colon. It will expand to several times its original diameter and will push any residual artifacts out of your body. Start your day off right be enjoying a high fiber cereal.

The last thing you need to consider when trying to lose weight is eating! Wait did I just say eating? I thought all the diets under the sun want you to stop eating so you can lose weight. Well this is 100% wrong. By eating 5 or 6 small meals a day you will force your metabolic rate to stay high. This will enable you to burn calories all day long. Remember to keep your portions small, but your eating frequency high. This is a fundamental key to weight loss success.

Extremely fast weight loss is well within your reach if you simple follow the information provided here. Good luck!

With obesity expected to affect an ever growing percentage of our population over the next 20-40 years, the pursuit of ‘fad diets and quick fix weight loss schemes has become more popular than ever predicted. From the TWA Stewardess diet to the Blood Type Diet to the 7 day Elimination diet, each of these weight loss programs all claim to promote immediate weight loss and increased metabolic activity.

But do fad diets like this really help you lose weight?

Sure, they might help you lose quite a bit of water weight fairly quickly, but the vast majority of dieters who try such fads find that their weight loss is insignificant – losing as little as 1-2lbs before hitting a plateau on whatever fad diet they are following.

More disappointingly, once dieters stopped following these kinds of diets, they immediately regained all the weight they lost. This is typical of most diets, actually. For many dieters, the battle of the bulge becomes a fight with yo-you dieting.

What are the long term implications of these diets?

Whilst celebrity diets can help dieters to experience quick weight loss, most are not safe for the foreseeable future. Limiting the amount of key nutrients needed to ensure your body is working at maximum levels, many involve reducing your calorie content to less than 1,000 calories a day– over half your allowance.

Supported by heavy sessions in the gym and constant calorie counting, most of these diets run the risk of making you feel queasy, fatigued, and unable to focus and more worryingly prevent your body from working properly – All of which are good for your long term health and ultimately your future ability to lose weight.

Are Fad Diets easy to spot?

Fad diets are easier to spot than you imagine. Proclaiming to offer you a ‘quick fix’ solution to your weight loss concerns, you can often spot a fad diet by their:

•	Too good to be true claims
•	Lack of clinical studies
•	Removal of one or more of the five daily food groups
•	Recommendations from medical professionals without reviews from other researchers

When picking a dietary fad or weight loss supplement, it is vital to thoroughly research their benefits first before including them into your diet. If there is no medical evidence that they can produce real and credible health benefits, then they probably don’t work.

The TWA stewardess diet is a very useful short diet designed for fast results. But how come some people still fail when trying to lose weight with it? Actually there is just one main reason there: for some reason they don’t follow the diet plan. Here you can find five most common mistakes people make when trying to lose weight with the TWA stewardess diet plan. If you can avoid these mistakes, you should be able to drop that weight quickly just in time for your big event.

1. They choose the wrong time to go on a diet
Dieting when there is something nice happening will ruin either the diet or the happening and is not worth it. The flight attendant diet lasts only for four days, so it is usually possible to find a time period without any big parties, gatherings or holidays.

2. They make changes to the diet plan
The diet only works because of the drastic cut in calories, and replacing foods in the diet plan might ruin it completely, unless you are aware of the nutritional values of the foods and know what you are doing.

3. They add something to the diet plan
Same as above: adding anything to the diet plan can completely ruin the diet. Many innocent-looking foods like diet products are actually very high on calories.

4. They are not prepared for the hunger
Low calorie diets have a downside: you will be hungry during the diet and think about food almost constantly. If you are prepared to the hunger, it is easier to cope with it. Make yourself a plan for how to keep yourself occupied during the diet to stay away from the temptations.

5. They go shopping during the diet
The groceries are made so that you would be tempted to buy something, especially treats. Take a look at the diet plan and buy everything needed before starting the diet.

Now when you are aware of these possible mistakes, it will be easier for you to avoid them when trying to lose weight fast. Good luck!

The Cabbage Soup diet is based on -you guessed it – cabbage soup. The dieter consumes large amounts of it in an effort to shed unwanted pounds quickly. This diet has been around for a while and there are still plenty of people that use it when they need to fit into that suit or dress for an upcoming event.

The Cabbage Soup diet is not to be used for more than a week at a time. The caloric intake is so low that staying on in for more than a week can make you ill. It falls under the category of “fad diets” but for some reason still hangs on.

Cabbage soup is made with a variety of vegetables, bouillon, and a large head of cabbage. There are no heavily starched veggies like potatoes to give the soup substance. You can season to taste, but you may have to season a lot if you have a sensitive palate.

Each day of the diet is specific in the food to be eaten. Soup and fruit are the only foods for the entire first day. You may find yourself on a natural sugar high from all of the fruit. You will have to eat a great deal in order to fight your hunger.

The second day you have soup and vegetables. Avoid veggies with starch like beans. Fruit is also off limits. But, never fear, you can still eat all of the cabbage soup that you want.

Each day after that has a specific menu for what to eat. To avoid temptation it is recommended that you steer clear of implementing the Cabbage Diet during holidays and other times of celebration. Cabbage soup will pale in comparison to cakes, cookies, pasta dishes, and meat. Stay away from temptation to give yourself a fighting chance.

After seven days you may see a weight loss of up ten pounds. Since the shed pounds come off so quickly it is likely those pounds are water weight. This in turn makes it more likely that much of the weight will return once dieters resume normal eating habits again. Due to the short length and drastic weight loss that occurs from this diet, there is no exercise routine necessary.

Talk about yo-yo dieting! Unless another, more substantial diet plan is in place, you will probably not see long term weight loss from the Cabbage Soup diet alone. This diet can be a means to building confidence before starting a healthier eating plan as it is not recommended to chose this diet more than one time.

The Subway diet is basically a successful marketing campaign by the fast food franchise, featuring spokesman Jared Fogle who lost over 200 lbs eating Subway sandwiches twice a day and following a rigorous walking plan. During his first three months, he lost over 100 lbs. As a result of an interview that Jared had given about his weight loss and his unique diet, he was contacted by Subway to appear in some tv ads and it just sort of took off from there.

Eating fast food as a way to lose weight?

Who knew? Of course, this isn’t burgers and french fries we are talking about. I must admit, Subway restaurants provide a different kind of fast food. As far as I know, none of their food is fried. Their subs come with several healthy options for the health conscious eater who doesn’t have time to cook.

As far as Jared’s plan, he ate a six inch sandwich for lunch. Subway offers several six inch sandwiches that have less than six grams of fat per serving. The choices are good for this meal. The sandwiches do not include mayonnaise, oil, or cheese. By adding these ingredients you are also adding calories to the meal, which is why Jared left them off. He did have a bag of Baked Lay’s® potato chips with each lunch however.

For dinner Jared allowed himself a foot long veggie sub. Again, this sub did not contain any oil, mayonnaise, or cheese. All total, he consumed very few calories each day. For a man who weighed in at over 400 pounds, the weight would start to come off rather quickly.

Since Jared began making Subway restaurants chic again, their menu has changed. They offer even healthier fare, including wrap sandwiches. Their potato chip line includes varieties of baked and fat free options as well. Breads include wheat, white, honey oat, Italian herb and cheese, and more. The restaurant’s cheese is not fat free yet, but cheese can be omitted or a lower fat version can be added when you get home.

For combo meals, customers can have yogurt instead of chips along with healthy alternatives to soft drinks. Fresh vegetables are available like always as well as light mayonnaise. The revamp resulted in more choices for customers who want to eat out but not ruin their diet.

Choosing the Subway diet as a way to lose weight is plausible if you happen to like their food. I personally don’t care for Subway sandwiches and much prefer Quizno’s. Boredom with eating the same sandwiches all of the time could lead participants to stray. But, if it works for you, the sacrifice will be worth the rewards. There is something to be said for consistency. If you know what you will eat you have less temptation to look around for unhealthy alternatives. But it seems to me that a tastier and healthier option would be to simply make the same subs at home and take them to work with you.

The Subway experience can get pricey if you eat out every day, but if you were already eating fast food twice a day then it may not make too much difference to your wallet. You simply substitute a visit to Subway for wherever you were going previously. The diet also doesn’t stop you from cooking if you have a family at home. The Subway diet probably works betst for single folks who work long hours. Kids would certainly tire of eating the same sandwiches every day. It worked for Jared and others, but if you have a family, you may want to keep looking.

The Blood Type diet is another fad diet that’s been popular lately, but most doctors believe that this diet is merely a gimmick and not based on sound scientific evidence. It certainly does leave some questions unanswered and I don’t much in the way of common sense here. In fact, I think the Blood Type diet is downright silly.

The Blood Type diet was developed by a man named a naturopath named Peter D’Adamo. While he carries the title Dr. in front of his name, it is important to realize that he is NOT a medical doctor. His doctorate is in naturopathy. His book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, says the key to weight loss lies in a human’s genetic makeup – specifically their blood type. He believes that by eating foods that are based on blood type, people have a better chance of losing weight.

According to research done on blood typing, there are several distinct racial populations that can be defined by their blood groupings. Dr D’Adamo has used this theory to concoct the Blood Type diet was developed. There is no direct evidence or clinical research that proves that this diet is valid however. D’Adamo believes that each blood type group has its own food classification.

Here is a breakdown of how those classifications work in relation to blood type, according to D’Adamo.

O Blood Type
People with blood type O are called “hunters.” This blood grouping is believed to be the one that all others developed from, according to the diet’s creator. Historically, hunters were very physical because they would wrestle wild beasts in search of food for the family. This type of activity required lots of meat. According to D’Adamo, those with the O blood type need to consume high amounts of meat in order to lose weight.

A Blood Type
People with blood type A are known as “cultivators.” Cultivators tilled the soil and planted crops. These people got most of their food from plant sources such as fruits and vegetables. For those with blood type A, avoiding meat as much as possible and sticking with vegetables will give you the protein your body requires.

B Blood Type
Those with type B blood are “nomadic.” Nomads are people who wondered around never settled in any one place. The harshness of their travels helped to keep them strong. Since they had eaten a variety of foods depending on where they stayed, their digestive systems tolerated different foods well. Again, according to this diet plan, this particular blood type group can eat dairy products with no problems.

AB Blood Type
The last blood grouping is AB. This group is classified as the “enigma.” Because this group is mad up of A and B blood components, they can presumably get by with eating plant sources of protein and dairy products. Their digestive systems are good and they can therefore consume a variety of foods.

One question, among many, that has arisen regarding the Blood Type diet is: How does it explain a lactose intolerant person with a blood type of B? There are too many loopholes for this diet to be one that someone could follow to lose weight anytime they needed to. Eating one food group only and eliminating others completely makes zero sense from a nutritional standpoint, unless you have a food allergy, as each food group adds its own nutrients to the equation. The key to most successful weight loss is managing portions of foods from each food group.

Did you know that the popular diet pill, Hoodia, actually comes from a cactus? It’s true. the name Hoodia actually comes from an ugly looking cactus plant that grows in Africa, near the Kalahari desert.

The Bushmen that live there use the Hoodia cactus, specifically Hoodia Gordonii, to keep them from getting hungry on long hunting trips. The native tribes eat the plant and can survive for days on little or nothing to eat while they search for food. The Hoodia cactus suppresses their desire to eat. It fools the brain into thinking that they are already full.

The discovery of this plant sent pharmaceutical companies after the secret to stopping the obesity epidemic. Taking Hoodia is supposed to suppress the appetite and therefore lead to weight loss. When hunger does start to kick in, Hoodia users can eat healthier foods to fuel the body.

Taking Hoodia and following an exercise plan leads to weight loss according to those who swear by the substance. Natural Hoodia has no side effects and can affect the appetite after the first pieces are eaten. Pharmaceutical companies are trying to synthesize Hoodia for market to the rest of the world.

The cactus diet plan is still not perfected. The Cactus diet involves taking supplements that contain Hoodia. There are many types of Hoodia and you may be buying a pill that claims to suppress the appetite but may not. The amount of Hoodia may not be enough to cause the same effects that the Bushmen experience from eating the actual plant. Since this plant has not been found outside of this desert-like region of Africa, to follow the Cactus diet plan, people have to rely on commercial pills that make boastful claims about their product having the same effects as the original Hoodia plant, but those claims are completely untested and the substance itself is hard to reproduce with any accuracy so you never know if you are getting the same efficiency in any particular brand of pills that you take.

Those who buy products that contain Hoodia should beware. We all know what they say about something that seems too good to be true. Until further notice, watch what you eat and exercise regularly to lose weight. Set aside the gimmicks.

In addition to reviewing healthy, sensible diets of different types, DietInspector will also be reviewing the perennially favorite fad diets, no matter how silly they are. We figure if someone is searching for the information, you might as well find us, right?

The Cabbage Soup diet is based on -you guessed it – cabbage soup. The dieter consumes large amounts of it in an effort to shed unwanted pounds quickly. This diet has been around for a while and there are still plenty of people that use it when they need to fit into that suit or dress for an upcoming event.

The Cabbage Soup diet is not to be used for more than a week at a time. The caloric intake is so low that staying on in for more than a week can make you ill. It falls under the category of “fad diets” but for some reason still hangs on.

[carousel keywords="Cabbage Soup Diet" category="Books" tag="dietinspector-20"]

To avoid temptation it is recommended that you steer clear of implementing the Cabbage Soup diet during holidays and other times of celebration.

Also, you’ll notice that you probably spend a lot more time in the bathroom since Cabbage is the sort of food that makes people have to “go”, if you know what I mean.

If you’re looking for a very simple diet to follow, then I’d recommend the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet over the Cabbage Soup diet. For a diet that is most sensible and will lead to lifestyle changes that you can stick to in the long term though, I recommend the South Beach Diet.

Did you buy a great new dress for a party that is a few days away, and now find you need to lose 5 or 10 pounds before you can fit into it? Are you meeting some old friends this weekend, and want to slim down and look your best before then? If so, 2 Day SlimDown says it can help you.

2 Day SlimDown is a two day liquid fast that says it can help you lose up to 6 to 12 pounds in just 2 days. 2 Day SlimDown is a product that you mix with water. This product contains ingredients and dietary supplements designed to help you burn off fat by, among other things, stimulating your metabolism. 2 Day SlimDown also helps keep your body from going into starvation mode. It contains laxatives, to help rid your body of weight in the form of waste products. And, finally, it suppresses your appetite.

That last benefit is key because, for two days, you won’t be able to eat any solid food. Instead, you will consume nothing but the 2 Day SlimDown liquid, lots of water, and maybe some sugar-free gelatin when you are really hungry. So if you are looking to lose weight quick, you can see why this product is going to work so well at making that happen.

Losing 12 pounds in only two days might sound like a dream come true. But there are some things to keep in mind.

2 Day SlimDown is a Two Day Fast – It is NOT a Diet!

In order to actually lose weight using 2 Day SlimDown, you can’t eat any solid foods for two days. And, for some people, going for two days without eating anything is just not possible.

If you do manage to stick out the entire two days, when you are able to eat solid foods again, you might find yourself binging to try to fill your empty stomach.

So if you are looking for a good weight loss diet, 2DaySlimdown is not the way to go. Your best bet is to take a look at either my Diettogo review or consider a well known plan such as Medifast. My Medifast diet review provides all the details you need to know about this fast, effortless weight loss plan.

2 Day SlimDown and Health Concerns

Many express concerns about fasting, and extremely rapid weight loss. And both of those concerns are a factor with 2 Day SlimDown, which is one of the reasons you’ll frequently see it suggested that it is a scam.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition, like diabetes, this program could be harmful to your health. 2 Day SlimDown also isn’t recommended for nursing mothers.

Seeing a doctor before using 2 Day SlimDown isn’t a bad idea either.

How Long Does the Weight Stay Off?

2 Day SlimDown might be able to help you lose 6 to 12 pounds in a very short period of time. But it probably won’t help you keep it off. In fact, even the makers of the product seem to acknowledge that you will probably regain a lot of the weight you lost once you stop using the program.

2 Day SlimDown isn’t a product meant for long term use. It also wasn’t designed to help you maintain your weight loss. The purpose of this product seems to be to help you lose weight fast for a special event, rather than helping you keep it off.

If you are interested in losing weight quickly for some event, and aren’t really concerned about keeping the weight off for long after that, 2 Day SlimDown might seem worthwhile. However, if you are more interested in losing weight the healthy way, and maintaining that weight loss, 2 Day SlimDown probably isn’t for you. Diet pills in general are usually nothing more than a quick fix, and 2 Day SlimDown is no different.
